    trans swap

    ok i have a friend with a 2005 mazda 3 2.3l auto. he has come into some money and wants to change over to a ms3 6 speed manual.i know everyone will say its not worth it. but thats not why i am here. he is determined to do this swap and im determined to help him. i just want to know what all would need to be changed over. obviously trans, axles, extra pedal, ecu flash(?),shifter.....i just need a list really and im sure the actual swap wouldnt be to to bad

    The Final Drive is the same...

    IE..

    5th in the 5 Speed is the same ratio (Speed/RPM) as 6th in the 6 Speed..

    So what the hell are you going to get out of this?

    hes going from an auto to a manual, but i gotta agree, why the 6 speed instead of the 5 speed, unless he plans on boosting, then the 6 speed is stronger
