    Lowering: Caution!

I could be completely late on finding this out, but I was talking to a parts guy at mazda today about lowering the 6, and he said that he sees a lot of 6's that have been lowered come in with broken motor mounts- and warranty doesn't cover this- It's a pity- thought that it would look a lot more aggressive-

I've seen pleanty of lowered Mazda6s (not 2009) that haven't had motor mount problems, infact I've never heard of such a problem. What does lowering have to do with breaking a motor mount?

Mazda sucks when it comes to motor mounts anyways, look into getting some aftermarket ones if your worried. Your new to Mazda so you probably have heard of the numerous amount of MazdaSpeed3s who had their motors drop out of them while driving because of motor mount failures.

I still can't see a connection between lowering and motor mounts though....

If there are mazdaspeed springs avaliable, then warranty should cover motor mounts, if you put those on. Because they are all mazda parts.
Ammaar - Stock 03 Pro LX updated with some of that ish.

Wow, how many 2009 lowered Mazda6s have you seen? I haven't seen any.

Mazda sucks when it comes to motor mounts anyways
No, PROTEGES and some other models suck for motor mounts.

No, no, and no no nonononononono. Mazdaspeed springs = not MS6 springs. Mazdaspeed springs are aftermarket-ish, made by Eibach for the last gen 6 and a bunch of other models, available at the stealership.

See, I'm retarded. Just delete all my post plz. Thx.

But I still have on question... what does lowering have to do with motor mount failures?

And the parts guy she talked to has apparently seen a ton of lowered 2009 Mazda6s, all with broken motor mounts.

    I haven't seen a lowered 2009 Mazda6, sorry.

first of all, TTIWWP. I want to see the pics of the chica in the avatar.. otherwise, I'm not helping with anything. :P

now, the 09 6s are so new I don't think there are many parts available for them, at least not in the US. I haven't seen/heard of any new 6 lowered yet, and definitely haven't heard of any mount failures. The "my gen" 6s have complete crap mounts. Engine mounts are weak and sluggish... diff mounts are COMPLETE crap. etc etc etc.

relationship between springs and motor mounts...
Honestly, I don't think there is much of it. I mean, there might potentially be some more stress on the mounts due to stiffer suspension and more vibrations, but other than that, I have no clue. I failed physics in school, and it was loong time ago anyway.

I don't even have any suggestions, honestly speaking. The architecture of the car is completely different, from what I heard, and I know nothing about it just yet.

    Now, how about those pics.

I am sure that CPE or someone else will have new mounts for the faux lexus 6, springs will be coming soon...but it will be awhile before Mazdaspeed has their version though
