blew the motor last night so its time to get a forged motor,

My question to you guys is what compression to get, i want to make power but my goals are mainly to AutoX my car. I know you dont need big power for it but since my motor went theres no point at all to not go forged. i have heard that the car is a dog until you hit boost when you go with 8:5:1, i was thinking of going with the stock compression and getting the thicker head gasket that speed circuit offers. What do you guys think of that?

Also what some other mods that would be good to do since the motor is getting rebuilt? Im thinking the intake mani and installing my intake cam.

some spirited driving lol. just went bang and the motor shut down and would not crank at all. oil sprayed all over the bottom of the engine bay.

I see you are already mentioning speed circuit...maybe give Dino a call and see what he suggests?

time to start off nice. unless your gonna get that 505 intake mani, i dont think the 626 is worth the money. if you can find the mazdapseed intake/exhaust that would be good. hell even a steadspeed exahust mani would be nice too.

Get 8.3:1 comp or even 8:1. I have 8.3:1 comp. Basically 8 or 8.3 don't lose much HP over 9:1 and can be used for massive HP.

Definitely look at oil pump solutions, a good HG (I have stock and have run it at 28psi no issues yet), bearings, clutch, flywheel, etc

But there is no way i will be able to swing the 505's intake mani anytime soon, and i need to get my money together for turbolifes's FMIC kit.

I do have the "mazdaspeed intake cam" didnt know they made an exhaust one, ill have to look into that.

But dam pdhaudio83 those are some low compressions haha, i just dont want to lose all my bottom end. Since im mainly going to be Auto crossing im thinking that might be a lil to low.

I wonder if your map on your AFC is the same as kamon8404's. He's rockin a steedspeed and a 'tater. No problems yet.
