Heya all am tryin to swap tranny -- i have an escort 91 gt-1.8l 5 spd--found a 90 protege same motor --5 spd(any info on tranny id tag?) -the mount thats attached to 3 studs on the topside of tranny are on level plane in protege-yet offset in height on my GT -using what I will call an adapter -> >4 bolts to frame above wheel well are the same-- --cant find that exact setup---everything else matches up --beyond this is there any other issues i need to look for -and any other straight swap info ...

So I may be at a cross road with my protege. There is no doubt I love the thing to death. But we all know its not going to last forever. The nail in the coffin of course is the salt we get in the winters. Rust gets everywhere and it makes working on the car hard, and a major PITA. Another issue is that the car I have is an autotragic.
