Daytona 5k walk on the track Saturday morning before the race, $20 to enter... you get to walk the track early in the morning.... then get a ticket to the infield(fan zone included I think) and grandstands general admission. I don't know what those tickets go for but its nice to walk the track if you never done it before.

You know I'm down. That's my birthday present every year ;)
Plus, my brother lives about a mile from the track. Who's camping out? I say we all congregate in the same area and circle the wagons. It'll probably have to be around turn 3/4.

Whens your birthday? Mines Jan. 28th and it use to be on my birthday weekend but I think they moved it a week earlier when they moved the Super Bowl a week later... or something like that. Whats the dates of the race this time?

Sweetness, I was born in '86 just hours after the Space Shuttle Challenger blew up on lift off. I take it your probably older than me though right? We can have a birthday party/mazda meet at the Rolex24! Sounds like fun:)

Does the free infield ticket allow you to bring your car inside? Or just you on foot?
Do you need seperate tickets to drive into the infield?

The 5k ticket is foot only, you have to park on the backstrech for the walk and I moved to the front side parking lot and walked into the infield and slowly made my way out to the grandstands and then went home late that night, its hard to do a 5k early in the morning and then stay up for 24 hours. I may just get an infield ticket so I can drive in if thats what everyone else is doing.

The goal is NOT to stay up for 24 hours. I never have, and honestly you wouldn't enjoy it. You'd probably fall asleep for the finish LOL. Dude, some of the best sleep I've ever gotten is at endurance races. After about 9 hours of constant background noise, you go to bed totally acclimated to it, and it drowns out EVERYTHING! It's amazing how that works really

Sounds fun, better than it being quiet and you hear every little thing and it keeps you awake.

In my defense, I'm going to assume you didn't have an 8 hour drive home right afterwards...
Also, 20bs are like a lullaby for me

January 24th
2009 ROLEX 24 HOUR 2-DAY WITH EVENT HAT PKG $45.00
2-Day Infield/Grandstand
Rolex 24 Event Hat
2009 ROLEX 24 HOUR 4-DAY WITH EVENT HAT PKG $90.00
4-Day Admission/Garage
Rolex 24 Event Hat
Then again, there's the other option that I most likely will be taking. GrassrootsMotorsports has been a big sponsor of the event the last 2 years and are planning again to have their ticket package. Reports are it will be just under $100 you get a 4 day pass, infield parking in their area if you want, or camping, certain hot meals provided, pit tours with the GRM staff, and a bunch of other perks. I'm going to see about getting my brother and parents in on that. It's the cheapest way to get very close to all access for about the same price as a regular 4-day pass.
