So it's come time to admit that after 20+ years of only owning cars with a standard transmission, my P5 is an Automatic.

Anyway, I'm missing the little round disc that covers the shift lock out hole next to the shifter. Does anyone have one or know where I can buy one?

If you don't know what I'm talking about, I'll try to send a picture later.

Thanks,

Now I also have to admit that I just LOLed. I think this forum is going to be really good for me.

But honestly, how could I pass up an '03, in Black Mica, with only 57K on the Odometer, for over $3K less than Blue Book. Besides, it's got the autostick so I can at least pretend :)

Hey man I cant even bash on you because I used to own a auto honda civic....that's about as low as u can in the car world...I'll admit it looked pretty nice when I lowered it and tinted the windows...plus it was an 01 so it was the "newer" style that seemed a little bigger and slightly classier than the previous models.

In regards to the piece you are looking for u definitely gotta put up a pic...I'm not sure what part you are talking about...Is it the reverse lockout? I'm not even sure if they have those on autos though...

So I finally have a picture to show exactly what I'm looking for. Within the red circle is the little button sized cover for the Shift Lockout. The picture shows what it looks like with the cover (I grabbed the pic off the web), my car has a black hole there. It currently has some dust and dirt in it, maybe some earwax and boogers too :)

So if anyone has one, or knows where I can find one, I'd love to know. I keep looking for someone parting out an AT P5, but I don't think anyone wants to admit they owned one.

Thanks,

I know :(

I talked to the guy at Montgomery Mazda and he said he could get it for me, if I ordered the whole shifter assembly, for like $300+ :wow1:

So anyway, just got to keep looking for someone to crash their auotmagic.

that sucks, that was the guy I was going to suggest asking on the other forum....What you need to do is find one with it's windows down in the parking lot then just go in and snatch it!

Already tried it.

First time, I didn't notice the dog in the back seat.

Second time, I didn't notice the dog with a gun in the back seat.

Third time, I checked for the dog and the gun, but didn't notice the LaserCat (http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/081d1c5cfe) (Link to SNL Digital Short) curled up on the front seat.

Honestly, I don't think I've ever seen another P5 with the Sport Shift. May not make a difference, but it might.

Well now we know why you tinted the windows. lol I can say that 'cause I too drive an auto (and proud of it :eekdance:).

John - Have you tried a local junk yard or u-pull-it?

Haha yeah, I loved and hated that civic...it was too slow to get out of its own way, but it was still mine and even though it wasnt too riced out it was slammed on some eibach sportlines. It got some looks even for a polished turd!

On a side note tint looks good on ANYTHING! I need to get my MSP tinted out still...the dark windows just make a car look better. maybe its cause you cant see how dirty they are!

Haven't yet. I used to know the guys at two of the junkyards we went so often. The best par about working on Turbo Dodges was that there were a million of them out there. Not only that but the turbos were bolt-ons to the factory engine, so we could get just about any part off of any car from 1984-1992 and it would work for us.

Short story long, I'll probably call a couple of places around here, but having 3 kids it's kind of a pain to make it to the yard. Someday, when they're old enough to appreciate it, it will be a family outing. Until then, we stick to the park and McDonalds.

p.s. - I like my auto too. Would love a little better gas mileage and a little more power, but I definitely don't miss sitting in rush hour traffic having spasms in my left calf from working the clutch. Now that I have most of my braking and handling parts ordered, I'm going to start looking into turboing my auto. Don't want a ton of extra power, just a little more getup in her go.

Another auto P5 boosting!? I fear I may be the only n/a left. lol

Being a father of two I have a solution for you. Buy the kids Mickey D's, drop them off at the park and you're guaranteed at least an hour or two of qt at the salvage yard. hahahaha

Or you could tell them the salvage yard is a park and let them climb all over the cars while you look around.
