What Oil Pressure Guage to get?

I'm ready to get me OPG to go in my ForceFed column bezel. My first instinct was the Prosport amber. I like the look of it blacked out. But then, I could also get something with a white face, and it would match the instrument panel pretty nicely.

I have the Autometer Phantom series and I like it. Install is very easy and gauge is easy to read. I rode in Khaosman's P5 yesterday and he has the Prosport gauges.. I thought they were kind of hard to read but I was also sitting in the passenger seat so I can't say for sure.

If you're gonna have it in ForceFed's column pod I vote for the Autometer cuz it will match the stock cluster a lot better.

i went w/ the prosport. but i acutally didnt like the way the green ones looked....so I went with blue. so it will atleast match my deck.

Right! If I go white face, I would prefer amber illumination ( or the ability to swap the bulb/condom to amber).

I know there is a stewart-warner one in one of the FS boards, but it's silver-faced. :(

The center gauge is dimmer than the rest because one of the fillaments in the bulb was broken.

Pretty much a perfect match- especially with my brushed DaveB gauge rings in the instrument cluster.

Where are you going to be reading the oil pressure from? I got a sammich plate- I think it's a Greddy one, but I could be wrong. I got it off ebay. Personally, I think the sammich plate is the way to go. It'll have other ports so you can do oil temp easily later on. I think I might even have enough empty ports to be able to hook up an oil cooler.

hmm. Ive been reading up on that, and it's very hotly debated about where to connect at. I may go for the stock location, instead of the sandwich, as it supposed to be more accurate. but then again, the plate is plug and play easy...

My autometer gauges came with amber and green colored bulb condoms. I never tried the green or even without at all.

I would go with an electric gauge. It's not as accurate, but it keeps the oil line out of the interior of the car. If you ever got a leak, you will hate yourself for not spending the extra couple bucks on the electric gauge.

My autometer gauges did not come with any tees. It came with a few different sized adapters, but none that were of any use to me.

I did read the Auto Meter description wrong. It comes with a 1/8npt sender and a 1/4 npt adapter fitting

One of the benefits of not going out and drinking, while all my buddies would go blow their pay on partying it up every weekend, I had something to show for my money, except a wicked hangover. Or i just don't buy a couple of new games for a bit, it all works out and its more important to have good equipment. It can go with me from car to car too. I can go commando for the next few months...no underwear money now.....lol

now that i have spent a whole day driving w/ the guage (prosport blue smoked), its pretty hard to see in direct daylight. even w/ the hood installed (in forcefed's pod). but nighttime it looks amazing. but the guage doesn't seem to dim but its not bright enough to make it annoying.

I just ordered one in AEM digital along with a triple pillar pod and AEM Tru-boost...Im going to get rid of my mismatched autometer and just have a killer AEM 3 pod setup...AEM UEGO on top, AEM tru-boost in middle, then the AEM oil pressure on the bottom.

the exact one I ordered. in the pic, the face looks white, but when it got here, the face is a darker aluminum/silver color.

hopefully Chris or Rob have some silver gauge faces for me to buy from them

Autometer is lit by 1 bulb, which comes with an amber, and a green bulb condom. You could also get an LED bulb to go it there, to make it any other color. purple might be nice against the stock amber.
