Has anyone wired LED's into the cupholders on the doors? If so, how did you run the wire? Does anyone know which wire is the power wire on the door?

Why not just pull the door panel and find the power wires running to the door lights on the corner? Or, the power for the windows, that would be my other suggestion.
i think there is a power wire going to the power window switch. and then its grounded @ the main drivers switch. but im not 100% sure.

Yeah there is a power wire running the window and light to the window switch; however, there are a lot of wires running into that connection. I would like to run a wire into the cabin and put it to a switch, but there is a grommet running into the cabin and everything under the sun on the other side (inside the cabin) covering the grommet making it virtually impossible to run a wire through. I know Steve from OAC was able to get it through, but I wanted to see if anyone that owns a 6 has done this mod yet.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have pulled the door pannels and spent 2 hours trying to find a power wire with enough voltage to light the LED. If I wire it to the door light, that means that the cupholders will only come on when the door opens right? Tuner...you know I hate people from MI right? Living in Columbus, I have to!
I appreciate your help guys. If you know of anyone that has successfully done this mod, let me know. Till then, I'll be fishing wire through a grommet.

What about running a small wire and tying it into the cig. lighter?
is an LED in the door cupholder really necessary though? I mean, all you can put in the is a bottle and you don't need to see it, really, you can just feel for it...

Hey Fez. Yeah....it's not necessary. I have given up on the idea.
haha.
don't get me wrong, I don't want to discourage you, but I think it's more of a pain than we really need... If you are wiring up the whole car - underdash, all cup holders, instrument panel, possibly back seat - then I can understand, but if you just want the door holders - that's too much pain.

Yeah, I know what you mean...no worries. It's funny that you mention that though. Over the past two weeks, I put LEDs in the center cup holders, Center AC vents, and CCFL under dash in footwells. Check out my garage when you get a chance. All of that and no problems, but the ones in the door....forgedaboutit :hand:! It's not worth the hassle.
