hey mang,

I just cracked open my tranny and was hoping you could tell me what the parts I would need to do to get the "revised" shift forks and parts and what not. dont think I will or want to do the synchros since I cant get a straight answer about what the tolerances are and how to adjust them. oh, and prices too pls.

I gots a early 02' P5, and I am a victim of raping gears:hand:

The best person to contact would be PDHAudio.. he knows his shit about what parts etc to use in the trannys...

I personally have not done tranny work in about 10 years and I don't touch FWD transmissions.

to the OP --your pricing through Mazda Motorsports will be better than anything else you can find for the parts you need.

as for what parts you actually need *backs away from thread slowly*

I seem to recall www.protegefaq.net having something on it but I just did a quick google site search on "shift fork" and no dice.

I said Mazda Motorsports, not your local Mazda dealer. Dealer prices = rape.

You are a mazda motorsports racer member, right?

dont laugh, but no. I have never broken anything or needed anything to actually take advantage of this deal. so i have no idea how it works... I think you need to prove like three races and you get great deals on stock stuff, but where?? online or bring a card to the dealer????

you need to link them or fax them results from at least two race events.

edit: here's the link to the store/registration:
https://www.mazdamotorsports.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/MazdaSportHomePageView?langId=-1&storeId=10001

but yeah you order the parts online, with ludicrously low prices (seriously some of the prices are friggin amazing), they ship from Ontario California (at least all the orders I've placed). you can call to place orders if you need help on part numbers, though they have an online catalog that is much improved and links to many PDF catalogs. All they care is that they are parts for your race car.

Mazdaspeed Motorsports Development + the racer parts program is what makes Mazda so amazing in grassroots motorsports IMO. They are unmatched in their support of racers big and small.

yeah um get yourself registered on there and e-mail them links to your race results (assuming they're online). If you don't get e-mail confirmation of them receiving your results and fully unlocking your account and you need to order parts fast, give them a call and maybe they can help the process along.

then donate :)

i need to start auto-xing so i can get that kinda discount:) ive heard that you can get the oem msp turbo set up from them... TRUE?

kansei

yes true. it's just the callaway manifold, the turbo, and I think the hardlines for the water cooling.

no ecu, intercooler. actually I think the callaway s-pipe is included too. Enough that it can bolt on but not at all enough to work. It costs somewhere around $1500 for that (can't find the page right now).

but yes, everyone please go race your mazdas, it's hella fun :)

Sounds like a great point to argue with the wife!

"I'm racing the car, to get cheap parts for the car, babe! I'm only doing it to save us money. I don't even like racing!!"
