awesome!

might be worth a modification to the trans-american zoom route.. it only adds 50 minutes to go through birmingham vs the Little Rock, Arkansas route from Knoxville TN to Dallas TX

Do eet... as none of us can make EECMM, and Little Rock sucks (As ashamed as I am to say it, I've been there).

Did you end up going with that couch setup at RTG?

no couch....had to make some sacrifices in order to get into this location instantly.

I got my gaming pc's up yesterday as well as my 100" hi-def DLP projector. Nothing like playing Halo3 when M.C. is a foot and half tall.

my gaming pc's are quad core processors with the 64bit windows vista premium, 5Gb's of DDR3 ram, 750Gb HDD, Geforce 8800GT with 512mb of DDR3 and we've got it all run on a 6.5mb/s DSL with a gigabit switch. It's all being played on 22" flat screen LCD's.

It plays crysis on full settings at 40fps. and smokes the hell out of everything else.

Barry, VIP treatment means you get to crash at my place if you come out for the weekend....not much of a treat!

Thanks for the nice words guys. It's been a hard few months getting this going. I had to leave my job and spend every penny I had to get this done but I'm days away from opening and so far the buzz in the town is that I'm the new IT thing around. I've had local bar owners (this is a college town) come over and ask me to bring my stuff to their locations some nights...... no way in hell that would happen but it's flattering that think I'm going to be stealing their business.

So just a quick rundown of the equipment:

(5) hi-def gaming stations each with PS3, 360, Wii and leather lounger

(2) high end gaming pc's w/ 22" lcd monitors

108" hi-def DLP projector with it's own dedicated 360 and ps3 for gaming tournaments

NeoGeo cabinet with 15 games

Nintendo Playchoice 10 with 24 roms (look it up and geek out)

50" Crisis Zone arcade cabinte with motorized light gun

Nintendo VS cocktail cabinet w/ super mario 3 and golf

Classic Gaming station with 32" trinitron CRT: nes,SNES,genesis,segacd,32X,saturn,jaguar,psx,drea mcast with over 200 games for all systems

Over 70 of the latest console games for 360,PS3,Wii

GranTurismo5 racing simulator with 42" 1080p monitor, 7.1 surround sound, rumble seat, Logitech G25 racing wheel/shifter/pedals...etc etc etc.

The big thing I'm pushing hard is rentals. You'll be able to rent out my entire shop for $100/hr. You and some frirends could each chip in $10 and play anything you wanted as much as you wanted for the hour. Full day rentals start at $400 and will go from 3pm to 1am. 11 hours for the price of 4. Nowhere else in the world could you get that.

Aside from the foreign language

IIRC It's called Greeking. Filling in a text box with a bunch of jibberish just so you can get a feel for what it'll look like.

wow very cool setup matty! I like the site too

There's a lan gaming center about a half mile from RIT and they do a booming business. Then again.. probably one of the geekiest areas in the country lol

you should sell Bawls there :)

Super Matty P

bawls? wtf?

Everything in my store runs on quarters like an arcade....so I sell $10 pouches of quarters....lovingly named "dime bags". I'm kinda becoming popular!

www.bawls.com (don't worry it's not porn). It's a very popular energy drink in the geek crowd. The place here I was mentioning before sells cases of it :P

apparently bawls is studded for... someone's pleasure...

Which really doesn't even make any sense.

Super Matty P
08-08-2008, 11:29 PM
looked up "bawls" and you can't get them in Alabama. Even though Target is a distributor they arent for sale here.

I'll be purchasing a new drink/snack combo machine in a few weeks that holds 25 snack choices and 5 drink choices (3 cans and 2 20oz) I'll probably do 3 canned pepsi products and the 2 large cans of monster and red bull.

Pepsi? Maybe I don't need to come down there so badly...

Super Matty P
08-09-2008, 02:58 AM
just because you live in "coke city" doesn't mean that it's the best drink available. I happen to live 30 minutes from Pepsi-opolous. and I think it rocks. Cherry pepsi = 10x's better than cherry coke.

kansei
08-09-2008, 07:51 AM
I think it all sucks

that sucks that you can't get bawls in Alabama.. I can't think of a good reason why that would be, it only has as much caffeine as Red Bull --the difference is it doesn't taste like drinking acid, it's actually quite delicious. Natural flavour (just guarana flavour)

day 1 was 10hours long. I was going to open at 3pm and by 2:30 there were 6 people lined up outside. I have never listened to so much rockband in my life. IT was on NON=STOP for 5 hours! All in all, we had about 70 people throughout the day and ended up doing very good business.

day 2 = rainy college town.... no business until about 5:30pm (opened at 10am and bored off my ass). Will work 15hours today.

Just realized I now work 65hrs/wk. I better be paying myself a LOT.

p.s. booked two big party rentals in one day and made my sales for the first 2 weeks. So far so good.
