Hmmm not sure what section this thread belongs in but anyhow...
Who's got an iPhone?
There a dyno program that can be added to the iphone utilizing the built in accelerometer. Haven't tried it myself but reviews say it works...

someone should give it a try... i know i will but we need someone with an actual g-meter and dyno sheet to compare results.

heres some info on it... its not as accurate with HP but pretty darn close with 0-60mph times

I'd say this is the right subforum for it.
Interesting, and cheaper than even the really old school g-tech performance meters.
useless for HP calculations, but for Gs and 0-60 it's good. Trouble is, it encourages street racing :/

yup... illegal street racing in the wrong hands... i think it's pretty good to compare how fast (or slow hehe) your car was before and after adding modifications too... maybe a little off with hp numbers but you can get a base number to compare after and before modifications

that would work if the data is consistent (but still not accurate). The info at that link just compared the data from that software to a real dyno and to a more professional meter, so who knows. The trouble is to use it you do have to stop the car, do a hard launch, and get to 60 as fast as possible.. which you can never legally do on the street. If you were going to use it on the track, you'd probably want nice accurate numbers, but for $12 you can't really go wrong I guess. It would be fun to play around with at an autocross before and after new alignment specs or some other situation like that.
