MPV MP3 Rant

So back in '01 Mazda unveils the MP3 sedan that comes stock with a Kenwood HU capable of playing MP3's...pretty awesome and a nice looking sedan at that.

So why is it that a 2004MY MPV ES does not come with an MP3 capable HU standard? I do have to say I love the 6-disc in dash changer and steering wheel mounted controls but no effn MP3 capability....WTF.

Sorry, just had to vent a little due to the fact that I am in the process of burning 60cds before this weekends upcoming trip to Myrtle Beach.

Why??? Because I currently have Billboards Top 100 of the 80's convienently on 10 disks in MP3 format. But since the MPV cannot play them, I must burn 6 cds for every year. Yay me.

ipod FTW!

get the connection, and get a used ipod that has a bad battery. and then just use that. the deck will keep the ipod powered and your all set to go.

Yeah....Mazda is still missing that. 08.5 is when it finally came standard on the 3. 4.5MY's after the debut. Tis stupid.

We may end up getting an iPod for the wife for teaching, currently she is using an MP3 player.

Wow...so they were not standard until just recently on a 3 and not on the 5??? I would think Mazda of all companies would have offered it sooner. One of my co-workers has a Chevy Equinox that came equipped with one.

On the bright side I bet my MPV would post better auto-x times. lol

mazda only offers the MP3 cd deck as an option - lame, especially on the GT level trims. but, whatever. our 5 at least came with an aux jack so i can plug the ipod into the radio. just cant control it with the steering wheel.

i got my headunit onsale at best buy for $50. It's Ipod ready, so, i got the ebay ipod cable for an additional $12 and i'm off with my ipod crankin dat soulja boy

Thanks....I am actually done burning discs so right now it is a moot point. Don't think Tam wants to upgrade the HU but I think we will be looking into the aux mod if she decides to get the iPod
