View Full Version : WOW!! I have the first 3 speed manual MSP!!!

I now have a 3 speed MSP!
I somehow lost 1st & 2nd gear? I was going to work yesterday
and it grinded going into 2nd, poped out and grinded again. so I went
into 3rd and finished driving to work. after work I tried 1st but it still
wouldn't go in, so off I went to drive home starting in 3rd. WOW ...
now I live 2.5 miles from work so starting in 3rd was a lil strange!
I would go from 3rd to 4th and then back to 3rd. like a high and low
geared drag car. Now all I have to do is get this tranny out and see if
it's the LSD!!!!!

I doubt its the diff. You wont be moving if it is.

My guess would be to curse the shift fork. As Jay said...you wouldn't be moving well.

yeah its a trans or fork problem not LSD...

Stop driving it and replace the broken parts inside the trans before you do more damage.

Yeah I drove it home earlier this week when it happened and it's just been
sitting in the garage waiting for me to get done with my vac. Just got back today
so I will start looking for info on how rip out the trans, and what to look for.
I want to say thanks for all the support ... this forum ROCKS!!!
I will keep ya up dated.

Big ouch. The tranny is a fun easy to rip out, but fun to put back to gether. Good luck.

I had a broken 1-2 hub assembly and replaced
the brass gears and bearings in between the drive gears.
I had no way of pressing off and on the bearings and gears
so I had to take it to a shop to have it done.
