To tint or not to tint?

Before I even ask my main question, I just wanna let everyone know -- I do NOT have stock tails anymore. I have only one stock tail sitting in a closet (as the other was given to somebody as a favor, coughRichcoughcough), and I have no desire to go back to the stock tails.

With that said, I currently have two sets of the 'carbon fiber' tails in my posession. One is the variety you find on Ebay, and the other is the APC type. I also just bought the Sylvania turn signal bulbs -- the ones where the bulbs appear iridescent, but blink amber. I currently have the APC tails on the car, with the Ebay ones sitting on my computer chair.

I'm trying to figure out which set of tails I want to tint, or if I want to tint any of the tails at all considering I now have the Sylvania bulbs.

What do you guys think I should do? Try tinting the Ebay set, and if I like it, put them on the car? Or just leave the APC set on the car with the Sylvania bulbs and call it quits?

I'm just trying to get my car to look as uniform as possible. If I had my way, the only colors on my MSP would be silver, gray, and black .. but the goddamn PA state laws are bastards. ;)

is this the one with the side red thing? if so, open them up and paint only that part. It'd be helpful if you post a pic of them or a link to a pic. sorry for being lazy:D

Erm, I say open either set, remove all that you can, spray the housing black, seal, and repeat.

The fake CF looks horrible, especially with such a sexy front end.

you can combine it with yours and use stock tails if you wish..

Okay. So I just went outside and took some pics of the tails and bulbs that're currently on .. Figured it'd just be easier, heh. And yes, go ahead and laugh at my ugly steelies and the dirtiness that my Titanium paint must endure. Screw you people that don't have winter. :p

.. And as a note, if I DO get either set of the tails tinted, I'll be taking them to a professional shop to get the actual tint film put on. And yeah, I know Rockblocker sells them -- but trust me, I WOULD screw up the install.

That's an idea ..

How 'bout I try to remove the reflector from the Ebay tails (that have the smaller red reflector) and tint the APC tails (that're currently on the car)? Then I'll have two brand-new options, and either of them should look better than how they stand now.

Rush, you need a cf rear trunk lid for it to look great with tinted tails. I'll take a pic of my painted stock tails if you want. they aren't on the car as of the moment cause of winter(well we're supposed to have winter), but I'll take a pic of them anyway if you want.
