Trick for paint wheels while mounted!!!

Step UNO: Unmount wheels from car.
Step DOS: Take Dish Soap and cover your tires with a thin layer of soap.
Step TRES: Prep and Paint wheels
Step CUATRO: Wash dish soap away

Wa la didn't need to unmount a thing.

or use tape and newspaper. that soap idea while cool, sounds a little tricky if not done right or missed a spot or not enough applied.

tape and paper is just as tricky if you ask me...never know what gets through till you done. Perhaps a combo of the two?

Dealership body shops use a similar method instead of masking. They'll spray down the car with a soapy solution (purpose specific though, not just dish soap), and this will prevent paint from sticking on undesired areas.

Realize though, that Dawn will eat away the natural waxes of your tires as it sits. Not a huge problem, since it won't eat all of it away, but you might want to try a car wash soap instead.
