View Full Version : Wheel refinishing?

So I figure I should prolly start to think about this now, as it's only about a month until I un-winterize my car, and put my wheels and CF back on. SOFRIGGINEXCITED.

Anyhoo, over the past summer, I'm sorry to say that some mild damage was done to my wheels. Two of them were mildly curbed -- just some light rash around roughly 5 inches of each wheel's perimeter. And the third's finish has begun to peel off in random patches. For all three, the damage (and the peeling finish) is ONLY on the polished lip. The spokes of the wheels are fine.

So has anyone ever had a polished lip refinished? What does it entail? What kinda price am I looking to pay to have it done? Will the lips be good as new when done, or will they never be quite as 'shiny' again, or .. what?

Any and all info, details, stories, opinions, suggestions, whatever .. are more than welcomed! Thanks in advance!

Pics of the wheel and damage would help... sometimes its cheaper to replace.

I know, I wish I had pics to post .. but unfortunately, the wheels are in storage back in Philly, and I'm currently still at college up in central PA. Bleh.

Depending on the damage it can run 75-150 from my experince. Pos tpics when you get a chance.

I had a buddy who just got a wheel repair 2 weeks ago. His wife hit a curb. She slightly bent the wheel and it had some nice scratches in it. They did an awesome job fixing it. They had a very quick turn around time.
