My rotors are a little warped and I'll think I'll be getting a new set soon.
Does anyone know what the weight of the stock rotors are? I'd like to get rid of any unsprung weight that I can. I'd at least like to be sure that I'm not adding any weight.
Here are the options I am currently aware of, does anyone have weight specs on these?:
1) Rotora Slotted rotors
2) EBC slotted/dimpled
3) Rotorworks cross-drilled & slotted (55lbs for all 4)
4) Corksport/KVR ("Front rotors are about 15lbs each rears are a 1-2 lbs less." ~56-58lbs)
5) Tripoint/centric
not interested in BBK.
Edit: I've emailed some vendors, and post will be updated as information comes in.

I'm getting the centric blank e-coated blank rotors from jeff at tripoint. might want to contact him if he has any info on them.

OK I shot them a quick email.

Without being harsh, are you seriously worried about weight rotors may cause? I'm thinking that the difference, if any, will not be enough to cause a performance difference.

Yeah, it's probably not much of a difference, and yeah I'm probably crazy.
I do know that pound for pound, reducing unsprung weight is much more beneficial than reducing sprung weight. I don't know exactly how much more(some people say multiply by 4 or 5), but I think it's hard to quantify. You lose the amount of weight that the engine has to accelerate forward(same as sprung), you lose the amount of weight that the engine has to get spinning, and you lose the amount of weight that your springs/struts have to respond to thereby increasing handling as well.
I plan to get lighter wheels as well, which should make a much greater difference. I just think that every bit counts. If the rotor weights between different brands differ by a couple pounds, I think that is significant. I don't know, mayb ethey only differ by a couple ounces though.

Werd. I'm kinda just one of those people that think "Unless you're completely gutting your car and setting up for track(road, drag, autox, whatever) then it won't matter much".
I'd think that gutting the interior and all of the trunk crap would yield better results if you're worried about that.

OK I tried contacting tripoint, corksport, crossover auto, protege garage, street unit, and horsepower freaks. Street unit replied immediately on the rotorworks weight, and maybe I can get a reply from hopefully one or two other vendors. I think Ken hates me for all my crazy questions :( .

peeps, you can go on the other thread and post on jeffs thread or pm him. jeff@tripoint is his name on there. also, we should get him on here as a vendor.

I don't want to speak for him but I think Ken will beat SU's prices on just about anything that he can, so I'll point him to this thread.
