Alright, since my car's out of business, I've been thinking of ways to change the interior around a bit and one idea is to do something different with the AVC-R. Any ideas where it could go?

I've been thinking:
a) Custom headliner mount above the mirror.
b) Below the radio in a DIN pocket, which would let it be hidden.
c) CF surround DIN plate mount.
d) Mounted *IN* the mirror. Not so sure about that one, but I've seen it done with other electronics.

Without more ideas, I'll more than likely do B.

I vote B, because hidden stuff is cool. How big is it though?... got the dimensions of it?

It won't fit in the Protege pocket but I know of one other pocket that works perfectly for it, with only slight dremelage needed.

Do you need to be able to see it or is it just another thing in the car..

If it's on a swivel mount, Low.

I guess you are looking for a custom looking install rather than a shitty one.

Yeah, I've seen woofer's setup. I'm not too sure I'd be thrilled to do the same with the avc. The cupholder idea would be cool except for the fact I use the cupholders.

The visor idea would be kinda cool but the unit's depth would make that a bit tricky to make it look "right". Not to mention the harness cable.

I wonder if the area between the cupholder and the ashtray is high enough.. HRM.

What about countersinkging the Fucker low in the pocket behind the cupholder. Nothing is stoping you from useing the 3 Inches of dead space under the console.

I actually went to look at that after my last post. There's not near enough room for it to work comfortably without lots of labor, dash cutting and glass work.

You could almost definately do something liek this, yet still retain the cupholders. That shaping, although difficult, would just look awesome. If my TV wasnt molded over the cupholders I'd probably do that. Damn...
