Would using miata plug wires and coils be a good thing for our engines , I am asking this because Tri-Point was using them on their touring cars , their mechanic said that the Miata coils gave a hotter spark ,and were lees prone to heat soak . Has anyone thought about this .

Unless you're planning on making 220 NA whp like the tripoint cars were, dont worry about it.

Any engine would benefit from better spark, regardless of NA or FI, would it not?

I thought our spark was good enough for up to like 500 hp, is it not? If it is, then why upgrade for a stock motor?

Not sure, but I'll research this a bit further when the rebuild time comes later this week.

spark is spark, as long as it sets off an explosion, then it WORKS
"hotter spark is better" is just nonsense marketing mumbojumbo
OTOH, 01-05 miata plug wires WORK on our cars... from certain wire manufacturers that is... I know magnecors and NGKs are the same between both cars

I agree with Edwin. The spark only needs to fire at the correct time and ignite the mixture.

Spark is a lame modification. It's like Grounding Wire Kits..

I only mentioned this because some owners have been having a problem with the coils breaking down and causing a misfire code mounted on top of the engine

For sure, If the Miata one is more durable then it's a fantastic idea, just the idea of the wires them selves... Two are fixed and not changeable. One is 2 Inches and the other is 5 So... Hmmm, Alot of money for a short wire that mad not do anything but look cool..
