what are the advantages of using the ZE manifold over something like a 626 manifold?

linear power, no torque surges at low to mid rpm... wheel spin reduced... better for circuit racing
high rpm flow from resonance tuning (search and find out how VRIS works)
stock level low end torque maintained even after use of FS-ZE cams due to resonance tuning

Nice, I noticed the lack of butterfly flaps on the last picture..
Is this the manifold that the MP3 came with or is this a JDM Only thing...

c'mon man... you've been around for a while, and pretty much everyone knows the FS-ZE is japan only!

Sure, but I didn't know if they stole the intake mani for the us on the US production of the MP3... I have never really had a look at the MP3 Manifold, but I knew that it was a lille diferent than the one they put on the 2002 Protege 5. (Mine)
The diference from 130 to 140 Hp for the MP3 was a combination of the ECU and the intake manifold as far as I know..

the MP3 intake looks practically the same as the normal USDM one... it just doesn't have VTCS, that's all
the FS-ZE intake adds a resonator for resonance tuning
