I have installed this header along with a MSP exhaust to be able to run both O2 sensors , In order to use both sensors I picked up the stock MSP wire extension ,This made it plug and play . The header /exhaust combo has improver milage ,poer and torque of the engine . The header is mild steel but the thinckness of the piping is larger that most headers , at least 14 gu . steel , welds are clean and smooth . It was well worth the cost for the increases in power and torque

I havent clue but it doesnt last ,I will have to get them coated . I am not really all that worried the steel in them is rather thick so they should last awhile . I am thinking about getting another one to coat and replace the one I have as i drive the car all year round .

There is also a place in Ottawa that does powder coating . I maybe be able to coat the part here if it will fit in my brotherinlaws oven . I would just have to buy the high heat powder .

Jeff Fischer, The guy across from Hw 17, also has an oven and the stuff, but IMO... Get it done by a Pro.

Kim (mazdafreek73) works at one, ask her...At least you are sure that it won't just fall off...

I'm the one where Macklum got his header, hopefully I won't get in trouble for posting here, but I've msgd t3ase asking to be able to post in the Vendor section.

Here is a quick FAQ about this header:

1) Is it possible to have the coating done in a different colour?

No. this is the only colour that Genie has. It is also part of their corporate colour scheme in Australia.

2) What is the colour anyway? Paint, ceramic, jet-coat?

Hi temp paint. It is a fairly durable, industrial coating. But, it is not as durable as a ceramic or jet-coat type of material.

3) If it's just paint, is there an option for ceramic or jet-coat directly from Genie?

Genie themselves cannot do any of these special coatings.

4) What is used to attach the Genie badge to the header? (glue, welded,..)

There are 2 tiny little studs welded on to a header tube. The Genie badge is attached using 2 little chrome nuts to these studs.

5) What type of bends? (mandrel, crush, etc.) Looks Mandrel from pics, but can't tell for sure. Apparently the OBX 4-1 header has some hidden crush bends.

They are all mandrel bends.

6) Is there an EGR tube connection and O2 bungs available?

Yes, there is an EGR tube connection on the header, as well as one O2 bung. It's suggested for the second O2 sensor that you either, install an upgraded midpipe with a bung after the cat, or have a bung installed after the remaining cat on the stock mid-pipe.

7) Is there anything else needed when installing this header?

When installing this header, you should replace the stock gaskets on either end.
