I've beaten the snot out of my BP, and haven't had a single problem. First time at the drag strip, I blew my alternator/water pump belt, and finished my race without any coolant circulating. I then drove it 15 km to my mom's, whom lived near by, without said belt, coasting to save battery power and allow it to air cool a bit.

It's overheated at least 3 times, once with it running for 15 minutes in 30°C heat, while I was outside the car speaking to someone, not realizing that my rad wasn't working until somebody else pointed out that there was a large pool of fluid building up under my car.

I drag raced it a dozen times, doing MANY runs each time, doing fuel cut shifts the whole time. I've done over 50 dyno runs, again, up til 7400 RPM. I've autocrossed it, bouncing off the rev limiter when need be...etc etc.

There is a guy who had a BP in an MX-3, who did a dyno run of 399whp on the stock bottom end...
