Hey guys,

there's an RX-7 FC for sale here but the garage
says the injection system is faulty and not working. :headscratch:
Now I read alot about the RX but this one I didn't seem
to find anything relevant that could help me out if this problem
would be repairable or not.

Its an 87 RX-7 FC, european car.

Any help would be great.

"european car"

as in?

what is the problem with the car (symptoms etc)

I have NEVER heard of an injector driver going out..

either the injectors themselves are bad and flowing wide open or not at all. or the injectors need cleaned OR there is no injector problem

its simple with rx's

injectors or fuel pump is faulty or an external leak

yeah, usually when the injectors go bad, they just leak into the motor after you kill the engine and flood the hell out of it. odds are that the fuel pump is no longer pushing enough pressure to keep all four injectors flowing or the injectors are staying stuck open and not building pressure, just leaking. i would start with the fuel pump. remember, if the factory says that the fuel pump has to push X amount of psi, nothing below that will be sufficient. my dad's truck runs on 60 psi of fuel pressure and the pump was only pushing 58 psi once. the pump had to be replaced to get those two extra pounds just to be able to run.

I have NEVER seen a non turbo FC pump go bad.. unless it was clogged and killed they just dont go..

I think your problem is either a clogged filter or bad injectors..

I would send the injectors out to get flow tested and cleaned..

when I got my turbo the engine the guy before me could never get it to run.. Come to find out 2 of the 4 injectors I got with the engine were stuck open and the other two were all over the charts...

injectors are common on FC's not pumps.

Thanks guys.

Reason why I said it was a euro car was that I knew the FB had different parts than the US-spec car and I know from the Protege that alot of parts differ from us-/world models.
So just in case there could be any difference :)

Thanks again guys.
