Ignition for high power motor

Is there a Theoretical "best" ignition setup, or is like everything else.. like to get alot of "A" your gonna loose some of "B"

I'm asking Cause ignition is a subject I have barely begun to look at and its obviously a very import part of any good setup

Unfortunately I'm looking at Chinese when I read through that, not exactly sure what that does......Just forewarning you, Im a complete Newb when it comes to the subject. So please forgive the questions if they seem trivial.

What does it do exactly(you could just point me to a site)
Can it be used for a street application.
Will it support a 6 cylinder.
