Two snowboards on a power retractable hard-top MX-5.
Is it possible? What rack? How?

the oem trunk luggage rack seems to work well for that, though at the same time making you look like a retiree everywhere you go.
I found some hitch mount stuff that might work, as I know I discussed the hitch solution for carrying your bike.
only problem I'm finding so far is that the hitch receivers for the MX-5 are all 1 1/4" and the racks are 2"

$277 for a Thule bike rack and ski/snowboard attachment. It's more bike rack than you'll need though, as it is one of the ones that articulates down to let you open the trunk on a sedan or wagon/suv --not really of any use with the way the MX-5 trunk is.
The MX-5 would look ludicrous with snowboards sticking out of that rack, but the boards are rotated pi/2 radians from how I was picturing it before so the whole 'can they hold up to really high speed winds held like that' is moot.

wow that is and interesting set up there. Almost OLD SCHOOL, but not quite quality like duct tape.
keep the top down, and put the boards in the pasgr seat, sticking up.
you could be like kramer (seinfeld), and be a tornado. have a warm draft going up your leg, and a cold draft going down your back.

There is a member over on 24/7 who just picked up a PRHT MX-5 and has a trunk mounted rack. Here's a pic....I am not sure what brand it is.
Chris, this is Bruce's new car.

no shit.... that's about how 1/3 of the people who try to rent from our self-storage company come in here. Only most of the time, it's plastic bags instead of boxes...
