just changed my water thermo sensor in my 1988 t2 with s5 jdm motor swap..i un bolted the alternator to get better hand at it... i forgot to disconnect battery so very very small spark came up when i hit one of the wires on some metal.. i disconnected it then continued i took old thermo sensor off them put new one in... the clip that goes on sensor is kinda broke but i said w.e. i then pulled intercooler to get even better hand at it... then i did this in reverse order and everything is back together.... now i went to get in and now my gauges aren't working... so i checked my fuses and none were burnt... so i continued anyways. now when i used to turn my key to position before on, my fuel pump would turn on cuz u could hear it... now it does nothing... and i turn key to on position and push my start button and it just keeps cranking... no fuel pump noise no back fire nothing just like its not doin anything... i think its cuz no fuel? wats the prob? and wheres fuel pump located? any suggestions in wats wrong?

Fuel pump is located in your fuel tank. Did you check ALL fuses? And will lights turn on?

under the hood on the driver fender well there is a strip of fuses.. you prolly blew the 80amp EGI fuse..

Dude that sucks. Good luck getting it fixed. Hope to learn a lot about the 7s so I can get one next year.

yeah if u look at that pic the center one says "main" 80amp
that is a 7 fuse panel on the drivers fender

uhh well none of the fuses are done at least to what i checked yesterday i will check again to be positive... and the EGI fuse is not 80 amp its 30.... so are u talkin about the main fuse which is an 80 or the EGI which is a 30? and yes i tried the paper clip in the yellow connector by the passenger side strut tower... ( tlu there r 2 fuel pumps one in gas tank other outside. genius) they told me to put paper clip in side on both sides of the yellow connector and turn key to on position and u should hear the fuel pump workin. i am no dummy to 7's but this one is stumping me.... i dont know.. im pretty sure that small arc on the alternator didnt blow the fuel pump but i have no idea... mayb it did please any suggestion accepted i need help ASAP.

i changed the EGI so it cant be that one
ill check the main... how do u get the main out it doesnt just pull out

no it is bolted in... there is little "swing doors" on both sides of the plastic housing kick those back to expose the 10mm bolts to remove

i will pull carpet today and check the switch,... where is external fuel pump in the car? and where is the wiring for it?

there is only 1 pump.. it is in the tank I know u did not fry that.. either u fried the ecu or u blew the fuses somewhere

sounds like you may have just ruined your battery...I did the same thing with my MSP...I was tightening the stud on the battery and it made contact with the frame and discharged the battery. It ruined it and the car wouldnt start cause there wasnt enough juice. I even jumped it to get it started but it wouldnt hold the charge. Once I turned it off it wouldnt come back on...I thought it was the alternator, but it ended up being the battery.

actually i have 2 fuel pumps on in tank and one external, i have a walbro GPH also.

not sure the owner put in before i bought it... at least thats wat i was told i have 2 fuel pumps... dont most guys do the upgrade to 2 fuel pumps? does anyone think i just ruined the battery?

nobody uses 2 pumps... the upgrade is to pull the old one out and put in a Walbro 255lph pump..

well mayb theres one but i am the third owner and the i know the second owner very well he is like my best friend sand supposedly the owner before him said that theres 2 so not sure

Maybe there is.. the only way to find it is to follow the fuel line from the engine bay back under the car up to the gas tank..
But I will tell you STOCK.. there is only one in the tank and it is accessible from the trunk under the carpet, under the metal access panel

it was the main fuse i nvr checked it... how much do they run normally? i had an extra 100amp from my n/a but i put it in my car started then i wen tot bolt it in and my socket wrench touched some metal and blew that fuse lol so fuck ya... at least i figured it out i nvr looked at the main fuse cuz it was dark out and everyone told me it was the EGI comp fuse but it wasnt it was main... im going down to kragen to get one right now

UMM I told you to check it AND I even posted a picture of it..
Wow this could have been fixed 4 days ago if u would have just read my post and checked the 2 fuses I told you to check..
sometimes it is best to listen to the vetrens.. we have learned alot in the years of doing this

i just dint check it cuz it was like pitch black outside. and i didn't think it was that one, but true u guys were right. have any suggestion now its back to where it was...it does not like to cold start takes many cranks and its running rich and it doesn't idle cold if i let off gas it dies... ne suggestions? should i send in my injectors to be cleaned flow tested and blue printed? do u think thats the problem? also my BAC is bad do u think thats the problem, but its been out for awhile and it wasn't doing this. how do i tune so its not running rich ne more? and i need to pass smog u think with my 2.5" down pipe with a brand new cat and my injectors being sent out it will pass? and a can of that pass smog shit.

I dont know anything about smoging..
if the BAC valve is bad the car will not cold idle at all..
what all do u have done to the car.. turbo or non, any emissions been removed, throttle plates removed etc?
the only way to pull fuel would be to buy a SAFC and a wideband and pull fuel to the liking..
thats your best bet...

its a prett5y much stock t2 with a s5 jdm t2 swap... it has no emissions and is currently running after market 2 1/2" dp and no cat just a test pipe instead... it has other random after markets but nothing more performance... i think it actually might be chipped but i am not sure

I doubt it is chipped seing that there is no line on FC chips..
What ECU are you using?
this is an S5 JDM engine but does this have a S5 intake and sensors or S4 intake and sensors..
what series car is yours (s4 86-88 or s5 89-92)

im pretty sure its an n374 but not positive... and does anyone have detailed pis or a diagram of putting smog equipment back on... wat exactly do i have to do and or what do i need to do? i need help ASAP i need to pass smog before i lose my temp registration... can anyone guide me through it.

look I am trying to help u get your car running do the folowing
take a picture of the engine bay
give me the cars year
was the car originally turbo or not
find out what series the ecu is (s4 or S5)
