Hey just wondering how hard it is to install a new steering wheel?? I know it obviously depends on the type etc. but is there usually alot of work in it or is it pretty much take the old off and pop the new one straight on??

Airbag?
You need to make sure its de-activated. Usually just means disconnecting the battery and waiting for 5 minutes or so before you start working.

I've considered putting another steering wheel on.
But what's the point? If you're replacing an air-bag with a non-airbag steering wheel, its silly, because you're putting your safety at risk.

Well, I've had friends that might've been better off without the airbag. Seeing as how the airbag caused more damaged to their face and chest than the actual accident would've of. I think it depends on the design of the airbag and the car itself. That being said it's not really hard. Here's a link I found that should explain it:

By the way, make sure you use a steering wheel puller instead of the hammer to take off the wheel. It will make it easier and safer on you.

For those of us in nsw not sure about the rest of the country but it is considered generally illegal to replace an airbag wheel with a non airbag wheel. However there are possible exceptions to this if (a) the car came out without air bags standard. (b) If the manufacturer can confirm that the airbags are not necessary for it to pass the relevant Australian Design Regulations (ADR's) in crash safety.
Just thought i would let you know what the legalities are about it.
