Jammed Gearbox

Was just coming off a round about, and couldn't get out of second gear?!?!?!

Called the RAC man out he couldn't do anything...the car drives in 2nd but thats it

Any ideas....i really need help as there is a mass shortage of 323f sport BJ's this far down in cornwall so cant really get a new gearbox...or afford to have it stripped down

No...the...car runs fine it just wont come out of 2nd gear

So it's stuck in second?? Sounds like maybe a bent shift fork or something is physically impeding the shifter from moving. Try removing the top panels along with the shift boot to see if anything is caught. You could also look from underneathe to see if the shift bar is getting caught on something... rock, piece of metal, etc.

can't you get it out even if the car is turned off ? if you can get it out while the engine is off, it might be brake master/slave cylinder, otherwise check what cypher said..

No...een when the engine is off the gear is still stuck in second

Not as yet mate...ive mand to get the gear stick un-jammed and witht the engine off i can go through all the gears but when i took it for a spin..it drove fine...but it just felt really different in some way????

you better check your gear oil.... a dry gearbox will act like this!

ooooh, very good point! Totaly forgot about that one! Also check for any metal bits and such.
