Hi!

I want to put 17" alloy wheels on my 323 ditd '99 with 205/40 tires.

And also, eibach or koni springs -30mm.

What is the best offset?

Thanks!

if you don"t wont make "cambar""Angle"
(I don't know how do you say that words in English)
Our cars great offset is ET38...
and use 205/40/17 tires is better

Yes very good cricketpage, Camber & Angle.

@ GOC 323ditd

17 x 7J with ET38 / offset 38 works with -30mm springs.
If you want 7,5J wide wheels its better to go higher in offset as it
is more likely you will rub the arches.

So, what about springs? Is Eibach the best choice?

Eibach is well rated.

But other brands tend to be good too.
Depends on what is available in Croatia and what you want to spend.

H&R is also good , and Apex. I have Apex -40mm myself.
H&R will go lower than factory said. It says -30mm or -35mm but with all cars I've seen it goes far lower. Especially with DITD I think because it is pretty heavy in front.

I dont want to go lower than 30mm! I have stock shocks... Should I change them, too? What about swaybars??

No problem with stock shocks or swaybars.

I have ET38 and it rubs, but that's probably because of my KW suspension that lowers the car more than 4 cm's. I'll have to roll the wheelarches soon, becuse the paint is coming off already :mhm:

Have you considered coilovers? I know they can get expensive but I just put coilovers on my car and it's awesome in the turns but it is really low. Luckily I can adjust the dampers as well so my ride isn't as harsh.

I would like to replace old shocks with new KYB Excel G. Because, they are only available in Croatia... Will it work with Eibach? Is it a good combination?

Hello,

are the fenders on the worldly version of the P5 different? Are they wider?

I had 38 MM offset on a set of (16.5 lb/wheel) 17X7 Eagle Alloy 160 series... and it rubbed the rear fenders all the time...every tie I hit a pot hole or someone sat in the back of the car...(without lowering it too)

I had to trade for Heavy ADR Revolution 5 17X7 with 42MM offset and the tire still rubbed on corners where all the weight was on either the rear passenger or the rear driver's side wheel.

I had to roll the fenders.

If you guys can use 38MM offset, then I'm very jealous...I could've kept my Eagle Alloys...grrrrhttp://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z269/Rd2002P5/100-0079_IMG.jpg

with an offset of 38 or smaller you have to roll the rear fenders, what is no big deal.
It makes no difference whether the car is lowered or not, because the Camber and the distance the Springs are working are still the same

I got 7.5 width Rims with an Offset of 38mm a few years ago, now 7 width wit an Offset pf 38mm plus a lowering of ~ 40mm

Eibach springs are fine especially they offer additionally Springs for Diesel Engines.

Stock Shocks are fine aslong as you won't drop more than 50mm and have not much KM driven with those shocks.

without fender rolling:+45, with fender rolling +42 to +38

I wonder if there is a real difference between the 5-stud pro's and 4-studs
Because I think there is.

I think the 4-studs can run much lower offsets without rolling the fenders. As i've heard of a 4-stud hatch with 19x7,5 wheels with an 42 offset.
As for the 5-studs they recommend much higher offsets with that size of wheels.
