hey guys!

I am wondering if anyone over in Europe-land would like to help me source some headlights. I am in the USA, with a 2001 Protege. I would like to upgrade my headlights to EDM spec with the "city light" (or what ever it is called) I understand the EDM version also has no orange side reflector, too.

I have attached a picture of the front of my car. I would like the same style headlights, but the EDM version.

Thanks.

here you can get the part numbers, maybe you can order them directly in the us...

I have tried that. No Mazda dealer in the USA has access to the European parts list, and cannot order EDM parts. :(

I have found this -

however, I would like the "power coated" look, not the chrome. (I don't need the tail lights either)ebay (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2-CONTINENTAL-LHD-headlights-Mazda-323-F-S-01-03_W0QQitemZ140023036994QQihZ004QQcategoryZ23009QQ rdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem)

well then.. order with a european dealer..btw: you dont want UK spec stuff, remember? they drive on the left side of the road and the lights are constructed to support that :ß

Right, I want LHD headlights.

Can you help me out with my German?
What is the difference between these two lights (other than price) -

Am I on the right track with those?
Is there a website I can order parts from over there? (similar to OnlineMazdaParts.com)

I have two headlights, but with the chrome inside. But you want the black ones right?

Also isn't this good then?

That would be nice, but not required.

Do you have pictures of yours? Do they have the "city light" socket? (see picture)

I have been looking at those ebay lights, but they aren't exactly what I wanted.

Yes it has and also the levelingsystem.
Had them on my car for 7-8 months until I changed them in october for the ones of a 2.0 sportive.

Where does the "city light" come through on the reflector? Is that other picture with just the "city lights" on? How much do you want for them?

The city light comes where you have the orange part.
The hole you pointed is for the levelingsystem.

I'll try and see if I can find a picture of it.
These also come with my headlights and not with the ones on ebay.

The 2.0 Sportive headlights are the two beam lights, right? Do you know how I can get some of those? Also without the leveling system? That might be hard to wire up.

Yes, you can get them at the dealer. With leveling system.
Wiring shouldn't be too tuff, there is a scheme on msprotege.
You wouldn't be so glad to hear what they cost though. About €600 for a piece!

100€ for both with the levelingsystem.
Have to say one is an oem mazda headlight and the other is from DEPO.
But both are still very good, like I said, changed them for my new pair :)

What about shipping? Have you ever shipped anything to the big 'ol USA?

protege

Many times ;)
Out of the head shipping would be somewhat like 32 euro's.

Think about it.
Not rushing anyone :)

I will let you know. I am checking a couple of other sources, too.

I like the sportive lights better myself. I ended up buying some Protege 5 headlights on ebay and I'm going to eventually open them up and paint them dark grey or black on the inside to make make look like the EDM version.

The only way I would go to the sportive lights would be if I could get the EDM version. The US version does not have a good light pattern. I am just having a hard time finding some.

finding used sportive edm headlights is VERY difficult..you might have to order them at a dealer..

I sold one, so can't offer you the deal.

EDM sportive headlights? You will only find them on an actual car or in the storage of mazda :P Everyone wants them.
