Hi can anyone help me out. I am trying to find out if the fag lighter on my 323F ( 1.6 GSI) is back lit. Can't seem to get access to the lighter to see if there is a bulb behind it.

the ashtray is backlit, the lighter itself is not afaik.... but you can take the center console off to disassemble it... (did i say that?! 1h of work at least for that ^^)

Hi TstarGermany thanks for your reply. I have tried to take apart the centre console but it just does not come apart easily enough. I cannot believe that one as to remove the whole centre console for changing the bulb there must be an easier way. I have already changed to bulb to the ashtray. That was simple enough.
Do you have a break down of the lighter showing what the individual parts are to the lighter?? If so can you post this please. I may be able to work from there.

The ashtray is backlit? I don't smoke in my car so I never noticed.

maybe you can get ahold of it by deinstalling the middle tunnel console, that would be much less work.

TstarGermany thanks for your EPC diagram. I looked into this further it does appear the the lighter is not back light

If you're still trying to get it out of the console, you might want to remove the 'fag' lighter itself, then turn the part in the console...can't remember if its (L) or (R)...it should un-screw and come out of the console then...

I had a problem with mine coming loose and out and found that when I turned it to take the plug(s) out I unscrewed it from the holder...This is on a P5 in Canada though...might be diff. in...wherever you are...
