My left side fog lamp housing broken for the 2nd time in a few months :help:

I really dont's want to pay 160€ again so is there anyone who knows a cheaper address than the Mazda dealer?

Anyone has a clue why this housing can break two times in a row in just a few months??? :mhm:

artaparts.nl has cheap substitute parts. Not oem but price is good.
Unfortunately I only have a pfl set lying around or I could sell it to you.

Thanks for the link, they have one for 55€, that's a nice price!
Don't know if that's with or without BTW/VAT...
( The OEM version did last more than 2 months :-\ )

incl. btw.
He (Arjan) responds really quick on e-mails. Very nice chap too.

Perhaps you should put some protective film on the fogs. I thought I heard something about film you can put on the fogs so it won't break (that easily).

I thought of that to, this is not funny anymore. After the "vakantiegeld/holiday money" (april) is in I will order a new light (somewhere)... :greed:

it happens because it's glass and rocks from the road will break them! I can't emphasize enough that everyone NEEDS to buy protection film for their lights! you'd think after breaking them the first time is enough warning to get some film!

@TheMAN:
After driving much more then 400.000km's with different Mazda's I had never had a damaged or broken (fog) light.
That's why I thought this was just an incident.

What kind of protective film van I use for this? It must be strong enough to survive the carwash and the heat to.

@Joe
Thanks for the offer Joe, but I'll think I'll replace the whole unit in one piece. I'm not that technical to be honoust...

the same thing happened to me... but I think it was a stone hitting the fog light glass...

Edwin I saw some protective film but It's possible to find one for our fogs...

By the way, insurance changed it to me but it was a replacement part, but looks like the bosch one who left.

My bad experience:

In the last Feb (Chinese New Year), before the CNY, the left fog light broken by stone. all glasses broken then, fix by garage crew. After the CNY, ,,,,,,,,,shit the right fog light broken ,,,,,,,,,,, Within 20 days,,,,,,,,,,shit.........

www.xpel.com (http://www.xpel.com)

the kits are meant for US versions, so for headlights get the kit with NO fog lights, then get a square foot of the bulk film and cut some to shape yourself and install them to your fog lights

they are REALLY thick.. the thickest kind I've seen, thicker than "rockblocker" which people have been ranting and raving about on msprotege... they do not seem to have melting issues either compared to rockblockers
