I got a free rear lip, but the mounting tabs were all ripped off!

So, i need to work out how i can fix it to the car.
I thought fibreglass, but it won't stick to plastic.

So, not sure. I'm goin to try and find some plastic glue i think and make some mounting blocks on the lip to screw into.

Fingers crossed

at least you're lucky to get a rear lip... I'm still wondering how I will get one for my bumper... hehehehe

they are tricky to find, this was the first one i'v managed to get and i have been trying all year!

Definately wasn't paying dealer price tho, £160 or something like that.

Theres nothing to screw through to hold it to the bumper, all the tabs were snapped, hopefully i can just tiger seal some plastics blocks onto the lip and use that to screw it to the bumper.

I had some problems as well installing it.

First I took of my rear bumper. Pay attention when its off. Best is to put protecting cover under it to avoid scratches...

I put the lip on it to see how it fits and where to make the wholes. To connect the both items use fenderbolts. They allow a little moevement of the item when they are not fixed to strong.

You can but a little mass of silicon between the lip and the rearbumper. In case it shouldn´t fit 100% (it won´t) it avoids dirt and (YES SUNLIGHT!!!) comming through the opening/split which might be there...

Total time 3 hours (with little coffee breaks..... ;-)

Is that lip the same as the MP3 lip? It looks very similar.

similar to the mp3 lip i think.

going to get some bits ordered soon and have an experiment.
Thanks mazdaspeed323, i think i will put some silicon or tigerseal between the lip and bumper too.

I'v seen some alloy angle brackets, i'm hoping i can bend to shape and will be secure enough glued to the lip and glued/ bolted to the bumper.

I'm concerned with it unsticking and flying off, but it's a risk i'm going to have to take, as long as it doesn't decapitate a cyclist or something it should be ok!

Could yoou not fibreglass some brakets onto the bumber, after you Tiger seal them, for extra strength?
