8-) Ok guys, I got my wheels on today.
No issue for the front, but the rear needs 6mm spacers, otherwise they will rub on the suspension struts.
Rim size is....
18 x 8, 50mm offset, 215/35/18 tyres.
So in effect, I changed the rear offset to 44mm.
If your buying an aftermarket 18" wheel, then the best width would be 7.5". :shiny:

18x7,5 is the best :itwasntme2: 45 mm offset. Not even a 'clunk' noise at full steering lock and me being lowered. (not me but the car is lowered  )

As you can see, lowering is real compulsory!!!
Looks like a thing between a Hummer and a Protege ;)
Nonetheless
awesome Rims.
Drop it baby :D

Yeah that's more like 40. But it looks perfect! If I do the 5 lug swap I will think about RX-8 wheels. They look awesome on the sedan too.

Nice :D
I'm just hoping I don't have to dress my arches when I get it lowered....
Gonna be mighty close I think.

I believe the guy with the black P5 did have to roll his fenders a bit.

Yeh it does look tight.
But they seem to have a small lip anyway....
I checked it on mine and I think the rounded sidewall of my tyres will save the day...
Watch this space!!! :D

How did you go with lowering over the rx8 18s? i have a set available to put on my sedan but i dont want that jacked up look so lowering would have to come round the same time,or should i just go mx5 17 x 7s to make life a little easier

The RX8 rims require rolling or grinding on the 5 mate, but I believe the sedan has a bit more space and rolling isn't needed.
Best double check this with the USA forums though, as we didn't get the sedan in the UK. X-(
I use a 6mm spacer on the rear, but 4mm would just clear the struts too.

hey congratiulations.... your car looks very nice ;)
i wanna put the same rims on my protege 5.... but here in germany we have the problems with the tüv... you know what i mean ?? ;) so my question is how does the rims fit on the front ?? if you put the steering angle to the maximum do the wheels rub anywhere ? and do they rub on the front shock strut ?
many thanks for a quick answer ;)
greetz from germany ;)

Absolutely no problems with rubbing or steering on the front.
The RX rims bolt straight on. :D
