Hi!
Afer william converted his PFL in a FL I decided to do the same - but only in the interior!!
I got myself a Dash trim - looks pretty good. Much better than the old grey plastic thing.
Everything is perfect, but I have to chagen the controll unsit as well. The buttons for the rearwindow heating and the air-condition are slightly different. But may be some of you know whether I can just uninstall the old dash trim, connect the cables from the new dash trim and everythings fine or if it´s not a plug&play thing....
Regards

You should be able to connect them regardless of what the button's exterior. I don't think mazda would change the design of a switch just because it's overseas.

It's not even close to a plug and play thing unfortunately.

The recirculation feature on 01+ models is actutated by a motorized servo instead of the cable operated switch in 98-00 models. It's not as simple as buying the servo either, you'll need a new airbox unit, HVAC controls, and the WIRING that goes with everything.

Ok, thanks.
may be I can make something that works, from the old and the new panel.
Like using the new buttons on the old panel.
I think the space for the recirulation feature in the dash trimm shouldn´t differ from PFL to FL.
But I have to see
Thanks so far.

I don't think it does, BUT the buttons for the A/C and Rear Defrost are circular instead of oblong, as well as the Fan Speed knob being much larger. I guess it would work if you modified it.

Hey I have that identical trim but the gold has a few scratches...any thoughts on cleaning those scratches up?
