235/40R18 on an 18X8 wheel with a 48mm offset rubs on the inside of the rear fender lip with Mazdaspeed springs.
Just sayin.....

Even stock, it will rub if fully loaded with people. I know as I rubbed last weekend, and am looking to roll the fenders soon. Took a month to rub though.

wow, mazda didn't leave much room in there then, did they.
have you checked out this calculator yet? http://www.rims-n-tires.com/rt_specs.jsp
i used it to find out what size tire i could run on my protege with the FD wheels. very helpful. it gives you a visual representation of the wheel and tire, and also tells you where you will need to measure to make sure everything will clear.

235/40 on RX-8 18x8 +50et, stock suspension
Rubbed when I went over some RR tracks. Took a noice slice out of the tread near the sidewall. I've been over these tracks planty of times, dunno what was diff this time.
