View Full Version : Your thoughts on this pod...

What are your thoughts on this pod? It flows quite well, and there is no fogging, whistling, or howling over the gauge/pod. Oh, and it installs in all of 30 seconds. ;)

I'm also working on a center vent design, that again will let air flow around the gauge. I hope to have pics of that by the end of the week.

I made a sister post to this one in the 3 section for the 3 pod.

oh my ... can you take a picture from a "driver's view." I want to see how visible it is while driving.

Yanked it out of that "donor" car already, but here's a shot of it as it looks in the 3, which is basically the same orientation from the driver's seat. I'll get some more pics when I have further access to the car. ;)

kewl.
my concern - when the hands are on the wheel - they'll be blocking the view... also, because of the angle of the gauge, there might be some glare while trying to look at it ...

no glare. obviously if the sun is at just the right angle on the horizon, you may see some glare, but that's the same for any guage.
also, if you have your hands at 9 and 3 like they teach at the advanced driving schools, you should be able to see it no problem. ;)

And the center mounted pod...

These would be drop-in replacements for the existing louvre assemblies. ;)
Also, this one is just a fab'd piece I threw together last night. The real deal will look much nicer and the lines (like the outer diameter) will be more consistant with the other vents.

i like the guage in the vents, but i would put it in the center one. i like my a/c in the summer :smile-l:

Good news!!

These VentPods will fit the CX-7 also! The 6 and the CX-7 use the same vent assemblies, so our pods will fit both models. ;)

Right now, TheRPMStore and I are in the middle of launching our Mazda 3 product. As soon as that product hits the market (within the next 4-5 weeks), we are going to launch the 6 center VentPod. I will definitely keep everyone posted!
