Well there at it again. Someone coming by my house trying to rip me off. Checked my car this morning and my front lip was halfway removed. Missing two of the four screws holding it on. Frickin aholes.

Time to invest in an alarm

I could get a lip off with an alarm on it. Ain't no thang! Not that i would, but, it'd have to be OOOBER sensetive, which would be set off by the breeze

Sucks to hear though! Make sure ya got pics of your car most recent if you do need to report a claim or file a police report

Start there....that should deter most thieves.

I have a motion detecting light, but, it's retarded. It turns on for about 5 seconds and off 5 seconds movement or not. It's more of a party light

step 1: fence in yard
step 2: buy Akitas, install in fenced area
step 3: park car in fenced area

its not the first time. I have a 2way viper alarm. They gave up on trying to steal the whole car after two attempts but now they trying to take parts. Yup can get the lip off w/o setting off alarm. Well I added six more screws.

My motion sensor light has a couple knobs to adjust duration and sensitivity. Have you checked that out, it should be on the sensor eye box.

when it comes to goodies on your car, what about security bolts or something like that? Torx or hex maybe?

808mp5
05-16-2008, 05:26 PM
a motion detection light for me is out of the question. I rent and the owner won't allow it :(

Car thieves here are pretty smart. They actually recon before they do the job. Security bolts won't stop them. My alarm is top of the line with microphone, all points of entry, all magnetic sensors. Even if u cut a wire the alarm will trigger. The hood is also rigged. The only thing I can think of is making it more sensitive but the cats around here used to set my alarm off when they jumped on my car. I had to turn it down cuz the neighbors where complaining.

What about some sort of solar powered motion light on a pole? Self sufficiant? ?

hmm. They'll probably steal that too. I'm looking into seeing if they have a motion detector add on for my alarm. But then again I'll have the problem with the cats setting off my alarm

i think there are proximity detectors, but i dunno how they would deal w/ the animals.

just rub dog shit all over your bumper and next time they'll just walk away... It's the same philosiphy that Martin Lawrence uses for if he ever get's locked up to avoid being raped...Just keep a real shitty asshole!

But in all seriousness I would totally get that gun in the video! I think it was FN. Very niiiice!

Buy a gun. Sit in your window with the lights off. Shoot for the foot. Close window and go to bed. Get rid of gun and deny everything.

Camp out in the back with a 12 gauge with the choke removed. The deafening sound of the best alarm system doesn't hold a candle to a good old fashioned "chuck-chuck" sound.

they'd deal ok from what I've seen. You set an inner range and an outer range, the inner being literally inside the car. That way, from outside the car it'll just give a non-deafening warning chirp.

May be an isssue to tune the outer zone if you frequently street park, but if you set the outer zone to just trigger the warning the alarm won't be going off all day, just chirping a lot.

Mini tesla-coil rigged to the alarm. Super high voltage and sparks will deter most people.

I had one of these before and they were the biggest pain in the ass. Temperature changes greatly alter these fields and I found myself readjusting them every other night cuz my car would chirp at anything that came close to it..

Nah...lots of voltage, little current. Doesn't hurt unless something's wrong.

It can also be used (in a different config) to make electricity to power the house. I love Tesla.
