I finally won my class this year in MSCC (mid west sports car club). I also nutted up for a pair of R compounds and I set the track record at Black Hawk Farms Raceway for EM (my class). Made all but two races this year and finally had no mechanical difficultys.

Anyone??

My car has been on the entry list of 2 autoxes in the Wichita Region. But I'm far from an autox n00b. I was the region's Solo department chair for 2 seasons and I ran my old car for all but 2 events- a 1992 Saturn SC which spent most of its time in STS but I then moved it to the region's Street Open class to go head-to-head with a C4 Corvette and anyone else who showed up on street tires.

I would really like to get into some HPDE events with the local NASA chapter, but haven't been able to as of yet.

I autocross often (well only made 4 events this season out of like 9).. next season hopefully I'll have more time, i.e. sacrificing going to canada nearly every weekend as I did this summer.

I run in street modified obviously --though I had to even before I turbocharged my car (cams n shit)

sorry one too many "s"s

AutoX is just the parking lot "cone dodging" and High Speed AutoXing is on a track timed runs.

here is a link to the home page for who I run with http://www.mcscc.org/

sorry its actually MCSCC like it matters anyway. was wondering if there is anyone out here if they do NASSA or what ever is around.

I figure you were talking about something different. So it's like a hybrid of autocross and track day, or it's totally full balls out track stuff, just time trial?

well in the morning you go out in "practice groups" which is like 15 other cars that have similar track times. That can be cool, and extreemly irritating. But you only allowed to pass in designated spots.

in the second part of the day its just you by your self one lap fast as you can balls to the wall. Cant make any mistakes and you on cold tires for a corner or two because its from a stand still start.

if the track was small enough they could do two laps which would be awesome :)

unless you've got cones going down the straight, slalom style, it's a time trial. That's the generic name for that kind of event, NASA just went with it. Time Attack is the same with a different name. SCCA also calls it Time Trials.

But no, I don't. Yet. lol

Gingerman in Michigan lets you come out with just a motorcycle helmet and you can pend three hours on the track for $60! not racing, but a great way to trash a set of brake pads!:hump:
