I took her for a ride on the highway today and found that it wasnt a bent/unbalanced wheel or a bad tire causing vibes. There must be something bad in my front end. :(
I just dont know what. I rotated the tires and the RF still makes the wah wah wah noise. A little louder now. Anyone have any imput?
He'res a pic. Anything look amiss?

Did not know you were having issues. How many miles are on your struts?

The front struts are about 7k miles old. (replaced after accident)

Is there any play or looseness in this.
when you drive your car, shake your car left to right and back, like you were going through a slalom of cones. does the noise stay constant?

Well, if your whole front end shakes, it might be a result of that. Was that fixed under insurance?
JC-MP5

My whole front end doesnt shake. Just the right front tire/susp area.
And it was fixed out of pocket to not raise insurance. It was a single car accident. >.<

And I took it for a spin. Of course when I want to gauge the noise its not as loud as before. I could still hear it tho. I didnt really go over 40 (residential).
But the noise stayed constant when I slalomed it around.

I really think something down there is loose. I wish I was not like 6 hours away, I would be happy to come over and help. Wanna come up to Gainesville?

No guarantees, but I can help look at it. DO you know some of the Intense Performance Mazda Club from down there? They are on 247. JCELL (Jaime) might be able to help look.

But I dont go on 24/7 anymore.
(hisses)
did you rotate the tires front to back, left to right, or criss cross?

Could it be a CV joint? Sounds like the noise my Starion made when the CVs took a crap.

Criss cross. LF for RR and RF for LR. But the vibes are the same as before. And I dont think 2 of my wheels could possibly be ephed up.

Could be. I dunno. :(

Check to boots carefully for cracking. That's not a little bit of grease or oil under the CV boot, is it? :headscratch:
EDIT: NO it's not because that's not the CV joint :p

Mine "clicked" when I backed the car up (tickticktick). Also, does the sound go with the RPMs of the engine or the wheels?
I hope it's not a CV joint.

the accident was he went into a rotary, a roundabout, or whatever you people call em at...what was it again, 50 mph???
the limit is 25, and its a pretty small one at that.
needless to say, theres some rubber on the curb, and some dead grass in the middle :)
*sry josh, had to do it :)*

It goes with the wheels. The sound stops at around 20 mph and below.

Yeah but now I know better. That was when I was a stupid n00b (and on stock wheels and 195 rubber) >.< . lol
I take corners smarter now. Slow in and fast out. Instead of fast in and out dead.

And I think I've figured it out everyone!
I think theres something loose in my steering/font-end assembly. The car has gotten smoother. But at random times it will start to vibrate again. It also pulls in random directions at random times. I can let go of the wheel and it will go straight for a couple seconds, but then it will go left. While going left the wheel will actually resist a little and jerk right a couple times and then the car will start to go right.
I think that a part is loose and the right front is allowed to shimmy around while the left stays going straight, causing a high speed vibration that comes in and out. It also could be the cause of the random pull.
When i left from jupiter this morning i could take it to 80 with no vibes, but then it started again. I took it down to 70 and it was smoothe again but would sometimes vibrate.
I also think the noises I was hearing were just weird tire noises caused by my current problem.

Got a question for you guys similar to what the OP had. On the left front of my brothers car, I picked up a vibration similar to what was mentioned. The thing is, it's really bad when the steering wheel is turned left. I can go through a right-hand sweeper and there will be faint to no vibration, but when i straighten the wheel, the vibration comes back strong then fades to what it normally is. It also get really bad around 65-70 mph and starts going away when i give the wheel a little turn to the right. Any ideas?

I am wondering if it is a wheel bearing that is totally shot.
If you jack up the front of the car, grab the wheel. See if you can move it like you were testing camber. Do not rotate it, just see if there is play with the wheel on the spindle. That is an old school method of checking before taking the hub off.
