1 week and counting! (+ statistics)

Today marks the 1 week anniversary of our first member (i.e. founder, host of the site, etc) pdhaudio83!

Lots of people are already here, and here's to hoping word of mouth catches on and this grows into a great place for years to come.

Here are some statistics from the first week:

After the initial drive of invites and such it seems to have leveled off. Hopefully word of mouth will help us grow more and more each day :)

Funny how so many of the statistics faltered on December 1-2 (the weekend). Guess everyone really does just visit from work ;)


As of right now we have 66 users (plus two that need to confirm their sign-up e-mail address).

At first when it said vbulletin and blan, I was a little weiry. but now it's AWESOME. props. actually I think it looks a lot cooler than 24/7 anyway.

werd we've been 8 new members a day for a couple days (of course the numbers are quite unstable this early on), this seems like an above average day (no I didn't calculate the average since it'll be skewed) so far :)

p.s. we broke our previous record for most users online (was 20)

funny you should ask. I too thought it was surprisingly rapid.

forums that started for a new model or a currently-produce model:
--evoxforums.com - 124 days
--mazda6tech (now imazda but since they formed years before imazda all their members are the earliest - 33 days
--nazis247 - 117 days --probably much higher, that is just the timespan between the first valid userid and the userid 100 higher than that. I tested some random ones in there and they are invalid (i.e. banned and removed from existence). they don't allow you to sort by member join date even if you try sql injection :eekdance:
--protegeclub.com - 16 days

forums that started years after the car that makes the most of the member base stopped production:
--themazdaforum.com - 9 days including the first day of operation (don't know if it started at night or not, but don't know for the others so I included it as well).

Yeah as time goes on it seems like more and more people are really upset with where Mitsu went with it. At first it was just Evo 9 people bitching but now people with deposits down on the Evo X are considering the ugly STI or the ugly 135i instead..

Too bad they are close to impossible to find new (like there's probably no more than 1 at any dealership at this point).

They are also 300 pounds heavier, but yeah they have a nice grand touring feel. Plus the Mazdaspeed6 GT with navi and everything retails for (you can buy it for less of course due to lack of demand) the same as the BASE evo.

There are a few new ones out here still. They didn't take off too much, aside from the enthusiasts that wanted one. After my S-plan discount and some other rebates and discounts, I could have bought a laid out GT for $26k and some change. I still wish I would have.
