Well, my car is just about done. I have everything done.. forged engine, FMIC, etc. Only thing is, I didn't weld the LSD. Just curious to find out how much of a hassle it is to get it done with everything on the car? Can the tranny come off without the engine coming out again? I'd plan to take it somewhere and have them take out the LSD for me to go get it welded, then have them reinstall it.

The transmission can come out with the engine still in. You do have to disconnect three of the motor mounts to do it though :P

I dunno how many hours is a standard rate for dropping the tranny. Took me 6 hours to get it off, upgrade my clutch, and put it back on.. but that was my first time ever taking a transmission off. I'd say they'd charge 3-4 hours maybe? Plus whatever cost to have it welded.

Yeap, you'll be fine. I've taken the trans out twice now without removing the engine

Sounds like a plan. Thanks!

If you need any detailed help while pulling it out, feel free to make a new thread in the transmission tech section :)
