So in April, store manager Josh Adams was happy to sell three specially prepared Mitsubishi engine blocks. Used by mechanics to build high horsepower motors, they retail for around $10,000 each.

“I would call them bulletproof,” Adams said of the blocks, which he received from Cosworth, an engine-building company in California. “They’re good for up to 1,000 horsepower.”
